My question here is: should owning a house be a right? Would Native Americans have kept someone out of a tent in the middle of winter if they couldn’t pay their bill? Of course not. We do that in America though by the millions. Now, rich Chinese are trying to buy up American houses to prop up our rotten banks. What about the American people though. Where do they fit in all of this?
My contention is this. People should have the right to own a house. I don’t mean buy a house. I mean a house should be yours for the taking. That doesn’t mean that everyone should have a mansion. It means that everyone should be living in houses. We are slowly reaching the point now where we are nothing more than serfs to the wealthy gentry class. We are literally tied to the overpriced shelter that we are living in.
