In reality, the whole of society is responsible for its young. Why not make parents, media, schools, politicians, business, etc. responsible for the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of America's young people.

"Even infants zone out in front of the television, and it turns out this translates into less time interacting with parents and possible lags in language development, a new study finds..."

It has been well documented that too much TV and even technology can interfere with the learning of children, as well as teens, and thus help "keep the child behind."

The solution?

We should have the government step in and create a lock on the TV when kids attempt to watch it. This measure alone, would make a drastic improvement in education and create a more sane and responsible society in the future.

Or there can be a "No Child Left Behind" government program for television in which kids around America are measured and tested every couple of months, and if they don't show improvement in their learning then TV execs, producers, tech people, and actors will be put on an improvement program. Eventually, if the mass of kids in America don't improve test scores the TV people would lose their jobs and the government would have to hire a whole new set of TV people.

In reality, the whole of society is responsible for its young. Why not make parents, media, schools, politicians, business, etc. responsible for the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of America's young people.

No, it is better to blame schools for a failing society.
