Senate refuses to censure Big Oil by six votes! 51 Heroes to 43 Oil-Industry Pimps and Look who the No-Shows are!

::::::::

I watched in disbelief as 43, mostly Republican senators AND Harry Reid, voted down measures to stop Big Oil's rape of the American Economy.
Even in the face of the oil companies' obscene and record profits, they voted NOT to take away their tax breaks, NOT to tax their windfall profits for Alternative energy development.
The measure needed 60 votes, but only got 51. Apparently a simple majority isn't enough.
What were they thinking, those 45?
This was such a NO-BRAINER!
Even our two senators from Maine broke with their usual Corporate Whore MO's and voted for this!
Even Democratic traitor Lieberman voted for it!
With these and a few other exceptions, the 51 who voted FOR it were, of course Democrats (Naderites please note; there still IS a difference in the two parties!)
-except Harry Reid and that dumb blonde from Louisianna, Landreau (STEP DOWN, Harry!) , against 45 oil-pimping idiots who still blather about getting the last dribble of oil out of ANWAR's fragile wilderness, which would last us -TOPS- three years, experts agree!
I guess they just couldn't bring themselves to vote against the Big Oil Tit that pumps money into their coffers!
Notable also were the No-Shows, enough to have put the vote over the required 60 to pass the bill. We can reasonably excuse Sen. Kennedy, recovering from brain surgery, but
McCain? Hillery? Obama? Where were they?
Let's remember these 45 next time we're getting screwed at the pump, or have to worry about heating or cooling our homes, or the rising cost of basic groceries
-and most important, let's remember them at the Polls next November!
