Just a few words for 'La battaglia di Algeri'. Watch it! It's astonishing, fast, dramatic, crude, real, touching, historically accurate. To everybody who wants to know more about Algerian civil war: buy it, find it..!

The Battle of Algiers

The fools who run the USA and Israel could have saved their respective countries $trillions wasted on the War Against Terrorism.

They could have shelled out $11 for the DVD version of Gillo Pontecorvo's film classic.

Effective counter-terrorism is regularly an extension Police work. It involves infiltration, bribing officials and snitches, forensics, assassination and torture. By definition, it is extra-legal. Nasty, it beats the American strategy to kill, maim or displace five millions human beings in Iraq.

BTW, France lost Algeria to the insurgents. Nobody can kill an idea with a bullet.
