Joe Scarborough's inappropriateness with Rachel Maddow on "Race for the White House" appears to be an embarassment to MSNBC.

::::::::

Fans of the Rachel Maddow show have discovered this week, that the new MSNBC show Race for the White House, is now simulcast as the first hour of Maddow's show on Air America Radio.

It's become clear, watching regulars Rachel Maddow and Joe Scarborough on the show, that Rachel really gets under Joe's skin. Maybe he thinks she's uppity. In any case, the second major snark exchange happened on April 24th, when host David Gregory brought up recent criticisms of Obama by Karl Rove. Maddow rightly identified Rove as a McCain partisan, and provided evidence that countered Rove's claims that Obama only cares about his ambition - citing Obama's work on "loose nukes." An obviously annoyed Joe, made snide comments about attacks on Rove by "Rachel's friends," rather than dealing with the facts that Rachel put on the table. When Rachel asked what Joe meant, he referred in general to AAR. Rachel laughed, pointing out how ridiculous it was to generalize everything that happens at AAR to her.

What's interesting about the exchange - aside from Scarborough's continued hostility toward Maddow personally, and his refusal to argue on the facts - was that I could not find the exchange on the video replays on the MSNBC website. (It does appear on the transcript of the show, however.) If MSNBC is so embarassed by Joe's thin skin, maybe they should give him less air play, and give Rachel her own show.
