This is a response to Newsweek's Saturn article in this weeks magazine. The Saturn is only an Industry Standard Automobile. I've had one letter in Newsweek and 4 of them in Time, including a masthead quote, in that magazine.

::::::::

We had an opportunity to buy a Saturn, but chose to purchase a Honda. We purchased a one owner 1995 Saturn Coup for our daughter in college. After it reached 100,000 miles, it began to use more than a quart of oil every 1,000 miles.  What was Saturn's response? A quart every one  thousand miles is industry standard! It is not industry standard for Japanese cars. Our industry standard has to meet or exceed foreign cars, or we will continue lose sales to foriegn competitors.
