An Engineering Student from Egypt ( see Rob Kall's entry on this)was sentenced to 15 years in prison for fooling with the YouTube. Your children are next.
My grandfather, he knew what to do and what not. He knew that there were no lawyers in the police interrogations. He knew that in the ' triad' court only one person was aa judge. He knew that he could be stopped and interrogated by any policeman on the street. He knew that he should not complain. He knew that in his time they beat people during interrogations ( that happened in my times too). He knew that many people were sentenced for ' terrorism' by Special Commissions without EVEN THE ACCUSED BEING PRESENT! He knew that chilldren down to 13 years' old could be sentenced as adults to capital punishment. He knew that a kid of 13 could be accused of being a ' terrorist'. He knew ( as well as my father) where to go and where not to. He knew how not offfend certain people. He knew (and I did) that there were places in my city where thousands of people were killed. He knew (and my father knew and my mother and I did) that you could be put to the psychiatric ward for just reading the wrong book. He knew that jails were everywhere. I knew that since I was 7. Weknew there wwas no law. And we all knew how to survive. But none of us were happy.
I want to be happy here. I want my son and others like him to do whatever they want while enjoying the full protection of the law. But we are falling into the lawless pit. That's why I am so worried. I am running scared. I do not want to be the grandpa telling his grandson how to survive.
