The news blasted across the internet and the blogosphere proclaimed victory: Rove has been cited for contempt of Congress by the House Judiciary Committee.
WASHINGTON — A House panel Wednesday voted to cite former top White House aide Karl Rove for contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena to answer questions about the dismissals of several federal prosecutors as its Senate counterpart explored punishments for an array of alleged Bush administration misdeeds.
Rove basically gave the Committee the finger by refusing to appear when he was supbpoened 20 days ago. This was after he had said publicly that he would appear. So when Rove ignores the citation, as did Harriet Miers and John Bolton, what do the Democrats plan to do? Nothing. This is just one more example of toothless Democrats trying to eat red meat. Until the Democrats prove to the public that they are willing to take more drastic measures for people who hold themselves above the law, they will continue to look like the cowards that they are. And we the people will continue to lose.
