Ultra-right evangelical Republican Michele Bachmann from Minnesota shows her true colors of hate and intolerance. Minnesotans express their outrage by galvanizing around her opponent.

::::::::

The true colors of an ultra-right evangelical Republican become grotesquely apparent during a Friday TV appearance on MSNBC with Chris Matthews. The hate and intolerance displayed by U.S. congresswoman Michele Bachmann from Minnesota has not been seen since the likes of Joe McCarthy.

Michele Bachmann called for the investigation of 'anti-American' Congress members and slammed Barack Obama as anti-American as a stunned Chris Matthews continued to press her for clarification on her remarks. Congresswoman Bachmann continued to reiterate her comments and went on to say, "What I would say is that the news media should do a penetrating expose and take a look. I wish they would. I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out, are they pro-America or anti-America? I think the American people would love to see an expose like that."

The divisiveness, demagoguery, intolerance, and ignorance on full display by Michelle Bachmann was truly stunning and embarrassing for both the country and for the residents of a state noted for its reputation of being "nice" and neighborly.

In response to her comments Minnesota Democratic Party Chairman Brian Melendez cautioned Bachmann, "The last politician who used that term that carelessly was Joe McCarthy, and Michele Bachmann seems anxious to step into his shoes."

Michele Bachmann's comments quickly went viral and were picked up on numerous TV shows and radio shows. The reactions were universally of stunned disbelief and her opponent Elwyn Tinklenberg (D-MN) received almost $120,000 in pledged contributions within hours after her interview. It appears Minnesota voters have taken this embarrassment for long enough and are trying to right a gross error of judgment in electing Republican Michele Bachmann 2 years ago. Local radio shows in Minnesota got a flood of calls from Woodbury Minnesota and other locations in the sixth congressional district expressing their disbelief, outrage, and horror over Michele Bachmanns comments.

Michele Bachmann also said, "Most Americans are wild about America and they are very concerned about a President who doesn’t share their values". It appears Congresswoman Bachmann, that in light of the impressive fundraising you just achieved for your opponent Elwyn Tinklenberg, that actually most Americans and Minnesotans don't share your values of hate and intolerance. They will do the most American thing they can do and show up at the polls on November 4th and vote you out of office.

Express your outrage by supporting DFL candidate Elwyn Tinklenberg for congress!

[UPDATE: As of Sunday morning the Elwyn Tinklenberg campaign had received over $488,000 in campaign contributions in just over 24 hrs and Michele Bachmann went on a Sunday morning news show (WCCO) in Minnesota and remained unapologetic about her comments on Hardball with Chris Matthews.]
