Remembering the Roots of May Day

May 1st is International Workers' Day, lest we forget, a day dedicated to the working man and womans's struggle for dignity and freedom around the world. Here is the Billy Bragg rendition of that old Socialist solidarity song, the Internationale, in honor of May Day.

The rights and freedoms, even the continued existence of workers are under as dire a threat as ever, if not more dire. Poverty, starvation, defacto slavery, exploitation, oppression and injustice are realities confronting the working class around the planet, so the need for working class solidarity is as strong as ever. "Workers of the world unite!" is a cry that needs to be shouted from the rooftops all over again.
