Western civilization got rational thinking from Pagan Rome and Greece--not authoritarian Christianity

::::::::

Judeo-Christians did not allow secularists to come into existence. Rational thinking came into existence in the Western world via Greece and Rome. These cultures were not Christian. In fact the Christians enjoyed burning many of their books and destroying what was left of their great empires. When the authoritarian and very intolerant Christians took control, Europe entered the dark ages where science was not tolerated and neither were any other religious beliefs.

Wars were fought and blood was shed because one group had different Christian beliefs from another group. When the age of enlightenment did finally arrive it was because the Church was losing power and we began to look at Greek and Roman thought again. Thus the reawakening, the Renaissance.

Then when Christians began colonizing other countries they committed wholesale slaughter against those who did not agree with their beliefs or way of trading. Greece and Rome were once very diverse empires where wealthy Black Africans lived freely in Roman Britain and now under the cruel intolerance of Christianity, others were feared. Then began the ugly history of racism that seems to walk lock step with more fundamentalist views in Christianity.

Christianity has always been at odds with science. Darwinism was suppressed by religious groups, global warming is still suppressed by Christianity. Even some groups are so extreme that they do not believe that dinosaurs existed and call dinosaur books, the liar books.

No. Science has had to fight the ignorance of fundamentalist Christianity
