In a recent opednews article the author mentions a Reagan "Peace Dividend". I must chuckle when-ever a Republican brings up this topic.
How can any rational thinking person claim the Reagan administration provided the USA and world at large with a "Peace Dividend".
All Reagan did was to outspend the former USSR which was already reeling from internal collapse, with Reagan having not one iota to do with it, yet everything to do with the huge deficit spending that this author claims are irrelevant too. That you great-grandchildren of "Loved Ones" will still only be paying a fraction of the interest upon the total accrued Trillions of $'s.
Much of the U.S. national debt was fostered under Reagan with its "Star Wars" missile program that still can't hit anything without pre-trajectory knowledge. Costing the American taxpayer with wasted trillions of $'s invested in this most absurd of ideas coming from a senile B rated sap who couldn't speak a word without a pre-written script.
Whose biggest supporting actor while he was a movie star being a monkey. Just proving that you couldn't give the man anything too literary challenging or he'd screw it up.
Former Reagan "Freedom Fighter's" Saddam Hussein and Osma Bin Laden the GOP "Greed & Oppression Party" have re-labeled "Terrorist's". Culminating with the farce "War Of Terror" based off of lies and deceit, with its additional wasted Trillions of $'s, with unaccounted for billions, while multitudes of innocent people are killed.
If these Fascist "Goon's & Thug's", who fomented Treason with the Iran-Contra weapons for cocaine scandle were behind bars were they belong. Then their would be no War Criminal Bu$h II cabal shredding the Constitution, while fear mongering causing chaos and mayhem in the USA and the world at large.
So, much of the problems with misguided foreign policy and championing of deregulation of the financial industry, the trillions of national debt is directly related to what the Reagan administration practiced 28 years ago.
Now Russia is getting off of its knees and the bear is beginning to bite back with the recent whipping it gave the US supported Georgian government. Along with a new generation of missiles that can easily evade the US system currently being set up in Poland.
Why republicans attempt to resurrect the "Demi-God" status of Reagan is beyond me, while the truth shows quite the opposite about the man and his absurd policies, and former comrades in arms.
