An examination of reality and why it is vital that we all understand what it is.

::::::::

Upon looking at the old question of what is reality we are confronted with an array of opinions about exactly what reality is. Many will say that reality is dependent on your prospective or that it is in the eye of the beholder. Others will say you make your own reality. In my experience, here in the US, these are the most common ways people view reality. I would say that these ways of looking at reality are irrational and nothing more than a cop out. While it is true that we all see reality according to our experiences and from our own unique vantage point. Does this really constitute reality?

We are born with a physical body into a physical world. So is it really reasonable to  view reality in these ways? Does it make any sense to believe that reality is from an individuals unique perspective? Does any life impact the lives and world around them? To see reality as being only from the individuals perspective is to disregard all the physicality and lives around you. While I may see reality from a slightly different perspective than you. The reality we see is the same reality. An example often times sighted to me about our realities being individual is ; I see the glass as half full and you see it as half empty. This to me is a repugnant distinction. The reason being that they are just different ways of describing the same reality. The fact is that this particular vessel has half of its volume occupied. So to say we are seeing different realities is absurd. We are just describing the facts in a different way. But we are basically saying and seeing the same thing.

Moving on to the most obscene perspective on reality; We make our own reality. Many have said this to me with this simple example. To people that believe in god and believe they are going to heaven when they die, this is their  reality. Well, are beliefs reality? Is fantasy reality? Is imagination reality? Are thoughts reality? Clearly believing something doesn’t make it real. Not even for the believer. Believing we create our own reality could only come from those that are fortunate enough to have a good life. Are all the people that are starving in this world starving because they want that reality? Do those being killed or mutilated in our campaign of mass terror against terrorism choosing that reality for themselves?. Certainly Not. Aside from all the afore mentioned aspects there is the most obvious. They, as are all of us subject to the reality we were born into.

So how do we clarify what reality is? As I have said; We are born with a physical body into a physical world. So the only rational way to view reality is physicality. If it doesn’t have physicality it isn’t reality. Actions are real because they have physicality and act on physical matter. Thoughts occur but are not reality until you act on them. Thoughts, beliefs, fantasies and imagination all occur but are not reality. They are something else. I believe there are many plains and levels of existence. And I live my life according to those beliefs. But they are not reality. They are simply the things I choose to believe  while living in this reality. We can not choose our own reality but we do choose how we deal with the reality we are in.

 This is what it all comes down to. I understand that we can have only minimal impact on our reality as an individual. Reality is a collective of all that has physicality. So in order to have significant impact on reality it must be done as a collective. This is why I feel it is vital that people begin to have a rational understanding of what reality is. What I know for certain is that if people in mass never think or talk about how and why things are the way they are, or how to fix them. Nothing will ever change. If we want a peaceful and healthy world we must collectively make it so. The many allowing the few to control everything will never bring this to fruition. Shed the egocentric indoctrinated view of reality!

Just a plain working person that is sick of the lies and our ego driven complacency about those lies.
