Technology and plans have been in place to convert our nation's needs for power to sources that are renewable and clean. These plans have not received their due attention until recently. We can replace our need for oil as a fossil fuel with the use of wind power, solar power, tidal and geothermal power production.I have read of a plan that advocates windships placed off shore that will produce hydrogen through electrolysis, compress it into liquid hydrogen similar to liquefied natural gas. These windships have flexible lines that lead to a pipeline on the ocean floor. The liquid hydrogen can be transported in the same manner as liquid natural gas and used in any internal combustion engine. There is no carbon with the use of hydrogen so we could virtually eliminate our CO2 production.
I would rather have windships 25 miles off shore then an oil rig. I would rather have more ships transporting hydrogen then oil. We could use many of the old auto manufacturing plants by converting them to build wind turbines. We could put people to work exporting clean power.
