Monday January 7th, 2008, MSNBC reported that five armed fast boats of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard made provocative acts against two U S Destroyers and a frigate. Incidentally, that's as much a mismatch as Green Bay High School playing the Green Bay Packers. It's interesting, how so much is known about the armed and fast boats. For an administration dieing for a reason to sew the seeds of American democracy in Iran, it could be just what the doctor ordered.Sounds a little too cute to me. Potentially a false flag confrontation to lead Americans down another path to an undeclared, unconstitutional war. Can't happen? The report sounds strangely familiar to one hyped some forty-three years ago. That even accomplished its task: Suck the United States into the vacuum of the Vietnam War.
Robert McNamara, the Secretary of Defense under Lyndon Johnson, in this video, acknowledges the attacks never took place. As a result of the misinformation or lies, Johnson, in his thirst for war, directed the Navy to bomb targets in North Vietnam. This confrontation became known as the Gulf of Tonkin incident, which gave rise to the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. With the provocation in hand, Lyndon Johnson and the U S Congress committed America to an unconstitutional war which would last ten years and cost our nation 60,000 lives along with 250,000 men and women wounded.
So, when Americans hear the words that Iran has made Provocative Acts toward the US, grab your wallet and your teenager because the government will be after them both.
