Today, Hillary Clinton made a stunning remark, while defending her decision to remain in the race - she invoked the assassination of Bobby Kennedy in 1968.
For weeks now, Rachel Maddow has been referring to Hillary Clinton's role in the campaign as the understudy - waiting for the unexpected to happen. Clinton couldn't have proven Rachel more right if she were trying.
Of course, given the early secret service protection that Obama required due to racist threats, it's an incredibly insensitive remark. She apologized, saying she meant no offense. But the point stands.
