Oh Divine Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Corporate Revolving Door,
please make me an instrument of Thy Peace through Strength;
where there is confusion, let me sow endless paranoia;
where there is injury, militarism and preemptive intervention;
where there is doubt, ideology and demonization;
where there is despair, predator drones and Hellfire missiles;
where there is darkness, torture and indefinite detention;
and where there is sadness, pine boxes and dehumanization.
O Divine Military Industrial Complex,
grant that I may not so much seek to be peaceful as to be admired;
not so much to be truthful, as to exaggerate and obfuscate;
not so much to love, as to be praised in the history books;
for it is in posturing that we look grandiose,
it is in patronizing that we make our citizens childlike,
and it is in their dying from blowback that we eternally con them into seeking new
vengeance.
