I found this article about Dietrich Bonhoeffer today by the man that is Australia's current Prime Minister.

Headed toward a brilliant career as a theologian, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a young German Lutheran pastor, became instead a modern martyr for his opposition to Nazism and his involvement in a plot to assassinate Hitler. He excelled in his theological studies and had earned a doctorate by the age of twenty-four. He served as a pastor in Berlin, and in 1931 became a lecturer in the theological faculty. He was in London for a while pastoring two German congregations, and returned in 1935 to head an illegal seminary for training pastors for the Confessing Church that opposed Hitler. During the war Bohhoeffer was a key leader in the Confessing Church, and spoke out bravely against the anti-semitic policies of the regime. He was imprisoned in April 1943 for conspiracy and hanged two years later, just before the end of the war.

I post this because I wish to make the point that some intelligent people, even some Christian intelligent people recognize that assassination is not always the worst moral choice.
Impeachment is the Constitutionally prescribed remedy for high crimes like war crimes. But if impeachment is taken off the table because the Speaker prefers to place elections ahead of her oath to defend the Constitution against domestic enemies because it would be too divisive to uphold it and might jeopardise her parties chances in elections then Americans need to understand that the Constitution is facing threats from a number of directions. And the Constitution is the bedrock contract between Americans. It is also the contract which allows you to contract through treaties with the rest of the world to form international laws.
The entire fabric of the rule of law internationally and confidence in the rule of law is not just in jeopardy it is desperately emperoled because of George W Bush and Nancy Pelosi (and others than enable them) who place other things as higher than the rule of law.
The US Constitution and the UN Charter are part of the birthright of modern humans. Our predecessors bequeath them to us at great sacrifice.
First Bush treated the UN Charter as collateral damage to his ambitions and now Pelosi is treating the US Constitution as collateral damage.
