LATEST PLAQUEMINES PARISH INFORMATION – FERRY SERVICE
 Belle Chasse, LA – Ferry service will end at Pointe a la Hache tonight at 9:00pm.  There will be no service at this location on Sunday or Monday.
 The Belle Chasse Ferry will be operational on Sunday with a normal schedule.

-PLAQUEMINES PARISH GOVERNMENT IS ENFORCING A MANDATORY EVACUATION FOR THE ENTIRE PARISH BEGINNING AT NOON TODAY.
-THE RESIDENT SANDBAG PROGRAM WILL END AT NOON TODAY. NO MORE SANDBAGS WILL BE GIVEN OUT TO RESIDENTS.  THE REMAINING BAGS WILL BE USED TO PATCH THE LEVEES AT CITRUS LANDS.
-THE EMPRIE FLOOD GATES WILL CLOSE AT ONE PM SUNDAY AUGUST 31, 2008.  ALL VESSELS NEED TO BE THROUGH BEFORE THEN.
-THE VENICE JUPM ROAD WILL ALSO CLOSE AT ONE PM SUNDAY
-FERRY SERVICE WILL CONTINUE -TO ASSIST IN THE EVACUATION- UNTIL WINDS REACH 50 mph.
-THERE WILL BE NO MORE GARBAGE/TRASH PICK UP UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

-THERE WILL BE NO MORE GARBAGE/TRASH PICK UP UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

-Residents in Belle Chasse needing evacuation assistance should call 297-5670.

-EVACUEES OUTSIDE OF THE PARISH SHOULD GET TO ONE OF THE FOUR SATELLITE PICKUP LOCATIONS.
