If you read my OEN profile, please note that when I worked for the U.S. Forest Service, from 1978 to 2001, one of the accomplishments of which I was most proud was notifying many of the Agency's workers, in our union newspaper, The Forest Service Monitor, about the re-discovery of a species then thought to be extinct, the Black-Footed Ferrets. And until I saw this article today, I didn't recall that this re-discovery occurred in 1981; moreover, I was blissfully unaware that the little fellows are still endangered.
