On weekends I often poke around baseball fields looking for baseballs
or softballs. Today I found a few softballs at this particular field. After a few minutes I decided to go into the opposite direction to see if I had missed any
balls. Sure enough I found another softball which I would have never seen from the other direction. A leaf was positioned in such a way that I couldn't possibly
have seen the ball going from the original direction.
There is a lesson here. Often on Op-ED people's opinions will clash because
they are so sure of the "rightness" of their opinion. If we could take the time and try to see something from another person's perspective we may understand their beliefs better. Or in other words put the shoe on the other
foot. The key to understanding is to look at an issue from all vantage points.
