I'm sorry I have been so remiss in submitting my usual brilliant oped pieces lately. However, I've been so immersed in trying to get out in front of the oncoming worldwide depression via completing my sure-fire best seller, " Peddling Pencils For Dummies ", I've had little time for anything else.
In fact, I have had no time for anything else not counting time-outs for ' Dancing With the Stars', 'American Idol' and ' Survivor'.
Now that we Americans have finally aroused from our carbohydrate comas and are cutting our waddling down the local Wal Mart aisles a little shorter, we are beginning to focus on the grotesque diminsions of the train wreck the GOP morons have rendered. Box cars piled up behind our derailed economy include those labeled environment, human rights, innocent Iraqis, 4200 American soldiers, our constitution, America's respect across the world. The ongoing assault upon our check books coupled with the realization we have left an Everest mountain of debt to our children as a legacy of our profligate spending and mindless greed is unconscionable. What do we do now?
In a few days we must absolutely reject the brain dead John McCain and his selection of the even more comatose Sarah Palin.
We must immediately challenge the mindless policy of converting to a Monopoly Money economy adopted by the money-by-fiat known as the Federal Reserve which today cut the Federal Reserve Discount Rate to 1% ! Of course, I suppose we could all wait around for them to cut the rate to minus 1% and then we could all get paid for hauling money away from the Fed !
One final thought: I hope you'll reserve $25 from your Fed stash for a copy of " Peddling Pencils For Dummies ". My kids and I will be grateful.
