A listener writes:

"The Bible says, since the days of John the Baptist, the kingdom of God suffers [allows, encourages] violence.  The violent take it by force.  People that have spiritual backbones are the ones that are going to advance.  They are the ones that will move forward.  I thank God for what I see happening in this place.  I thank God for the vision, the passion that I can see here.  And my word is this: The more violent you become, the more committed you become, the quicker you will see things happen in this region." - Per Pastor Muthee a touring Assembly of God Pentecostal speaker, this time in the United Kingdom, March 14th 2004.

Hi Mike,

This is a spooky phrasing combo that was expressed by Pentecostal preacher Muthee in 2004; what with his using "the kingdom of God" along with "suffers" plus "violence."  His devotion to a belief of "spiritual warfare" is pretty perplexing.  By the way, Muthee talks in Pentecostal heavenly tongue babble, believes witches really exist, and that there are attacks from demon-possessing python spirits, too.

Anyway, per his comments listed above, I think he is pretty much implying that he wants his fellow Pentecostal church minions to dish out the thug violence in pious medieval style fashion to anyone who dares to question or oppose their particular version of occult oriented blind faith theocracy.  In other words, rev-up your religious anger and desire for atrocity in order to take all your heathen enemies out with extreme prejudice.

Whatever happened to the phrase "blessed are the peacemakers" in these fundamentalist churches?

So here I sit with the November election looming.  I'm a scientifically oriented, non-occult, tolerant, critical thinking "Bill of Rights" respecting United States citizen.  Does that mean in Pastor Muthee's future vision of a Pentecostal-run America that I would have a spiritually cleansing rubber tire placed around my neck that would then be lovingly ignited by these "more violent" Pentecostal Christians?   Do I end up suffering a similar fate as Bruno in a state run by "spiritual warfare" Pentecostals?

And the scariest thing is John McCain's VP pick, Sarah Palin, attended Alaska Pentecostal church services where Pastor Muthee would often speak. She says she is a big fan.

So, Happy Halloween!

- James
