Fox News is providing the pool camera feed for the Democratic National Convention. Keep that fact in mind as you view the convention coverage tonight.
Hillary Clinton will be the featured speaker tonight.
How much attention will the PUMA’s be getting from the camera crews? How will the mood of the crowd appear? Will they seem bored? Will they appear to be rapt? How much will what you see be out of synch with what you hear?
Whose agenda will the imagery be serving? Will it be the Democrats? Will it be the Republicans?
Let’s experiment by paying attention to what we see, and report tomorrow in comments to this diary.
Last night during Michelle Obama’s speech, I remarked to my wife that the imagery accompanying her speech seemed to say to America, “Don’t forget, these people are not white!” I thought afterwards that it might simply be my own suspicious nature until listening to Thom Hartmann’s Air America radio show today when Thom and a long succession of callers remarked on seeing the same effect.
We can’t stop the propagandists from plying their trade, but we can unmask what they don’t want us to see, thereby blunting the effect.
