Paul Ryan: Vote For Me, I love Jesus And Ayn Rand

Paul Ryan credits Ayn Rand with getting him into public service.   The following are excerpts from a Playboy interview with Rand.

PLAYBOY: Has no religion, in your estimation, ever offered anything of constructive value to human life?

Rand:   No

If widely accepted, couldn't Objectivism harden into a dogma?

RAND

No. I have found that Objectivism is its own protection against people who might attempt to use it as a dogma. Since Objectivism requires the use of one's mind, those who attempt to take broad principles and apply them unthinkingly and indiscriminately to the concretes of their own existence find that it cannot be done. They are then compelled either to reject Objectivism or to apply it. When I say apply, I mean that they have to use their own mind, their own thinking, in order to know how to apply Objectivist principles to the specific problems of their own lives.

Does adherence to the dogma of Ayn Rand, along with her atheism and personal attitudes on sex, make Paul Ryan a really bad choice for VP and give even more credence to the idea that he is something new, a very scary, young conservative, selfish, predatory archetype.   A harbinger of what is to come -- Conservative Christian overlords living insular lives, apart from the larger society, predating on the lower and middle classes.   A priestly society that knows truth.   A burgeoning, predatory, growing corporate and social infrastructure, maneuvering for national and global dominance and control.   Or, is he just Christian/Wrong indoctrinated and intellectually lazy; this laziness validated and nurtured by the new Christo-Neo-Conservative-Reactionary-Fascist Mother's Milk Party.   The all "American" party.   The Party that, I'm sure, wishes Emma Lazarus had never been born.

As a Catholic, Ryan believes that local faith based organizations should help the poor, not government. People in need across the country should be very heartened to hear this except if you're: pro women's rights, gay, Hispanic looking, Muslim or Muslim looking, appear to be lazy, outwardly intelligent (one who reads books), a Hippie and the list goes on and on.   How can a group of folks that are against so many things be expected to be there for us when we are down and out?   Ryan and others like him must think needy people are, just by their, all too obvious, indolent nature, fools.  I for one would never trust a Christian that hated me, i.e. The Crusades, The Inquisition or Pat Robertson.

There is either dramatic intellectual laziness or fascism.   Fascists need a dogma.   Atlas Shrugged is Ryan's "Little Red Book" or "Mein Kampf".   And what is most unsettling are the grotesque potentialities inherent in the coupling of Rand's philosophy and the New Right's Bible Commentary's.   These people are aesthetically, culturally and philosophically as ugly as it gets.   The choice of Ryan makes it even more imperative that the Republicans do not take the White House.   Ronald Reagan was wrong but these guys don't even appear to have normal human culturally anthropological instincts -- Reagan was flawed, these folks defy accurate definition.

Interestingly Ayn Rand thought what she thought, wrote what she wrote and was who she was because of what Communism/Fascism (she believed Communism and Fascism to simply be despotic rival gangs) had done to her life as a child.   She would hate Paul Ryan.   I believe she would see him as a shallow, sycophantic "Christian" fool.

All this being said, I don't think Paul Ryan is a bad man; he is false.   Him and all those like him out there have simply been indoctrinated by this very insidious selfish doctrine coupled with a crypto-fascist form of Christianity.   If I were a Democratic political operative I would go after Romney/Ryan unceasingly with ads, etc. tying them to Ayn Rand and her words and philosophies   -- these folks are not evil, they are false.
