We all have different views about why impeachment is off the table. What do you think is *under* the table? Any facts to offer us about that? Above all, what do you think we can do about it? Please post here! Thank you.

Dear friends

We all have different views about why impeachment is off the table.

What do you think is *under* the table? Any facts to offer us about that?

Do you think they are afraid of Bush (after all, he is a mass murderer. So he would probably go after their family members if it would be too obvious for him to go after they themselves. Any man who went to war based on a lie, and authorized Cheney to leak Plame's name out of revenge, to the endangerment of her life, surely is capable of such things).

Myself, I speculate that it's because Congress has voted for so many unconsitutional bills, that they refuse to impeach because they know that they themselves would be out of office if they impeach Bush/Cheney. Because their role in all the Bush/Cheney crimes would be very clear to anyone who looks past the nose on their face. Criminals' accomplices, eh?

Based on the Congressional voting record, I also am of the belief that Congress is deliberately working to convert us to a dicatatorship, not merely "Caving in" as the activist orgs. politely tell us.

What do you think is the reason?
Above all, what can we do about it?
Especially if there is some fear (of retaliation, of self-impeaching, etc) then how can we effectively address those concerns? (Without promising any jailables any rose gardens, either!)

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts!

Last request: We of course need to air the concerns in order to brainstorm effectively. But when people moan about The Problem and What Victims We Are, the effect is only to increase the mass depression which governs our inactivity. When I have requested, in previous articles, that people refrain from this destructive behavior, they violated and some of them rigorously, in spades. Please respect the wish. There's an important reason for it. Yes we need to know all dimensions, good and bad, but yes we must also stress the hope and the solutions. People need to hear the solutions now, more than ever before.

Thank you all.

This quote summarizes the nature of my concerns and the content of personal experiences which stir my activism: "Necessity is the plea for every infringement on human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves". --Paul (more...)
