"Conspiracy theorist".
"Paranoid".
"Non-credible".
We all have heard it all the time, haven't we?
Yet, when certain political goings-on clearly establish a criminal pattern, one which is repeated in its theme, one would think that Americans would do a better job at "playing detective", putting 2+2 together.
What's more is that there comes a point when we have to ask the question: When does denial actually become dangerous?
For example, when Kucinich's brother dropped dead just two weeks after Dennis announced his plan to file articles of impeachment against Bush, and I wrote a concern about the weird timing of that death, a politically vociferous friend wrote me: "I caution against such statements in public. You will be declared paranoid". And yet the pattern is so clear: A war declared based on a lie, Valerie Plame's life endangered out of revenge (as only gangsters would do), Benadir Bhutto's car was exploded en route to a meeting with US Officials, Katrina victims abandoned to die, healthcare withheld from children as moneys were diverted to that same war based ona lie, shock an awe waged on a nation which never attacked us, etc.....the list goes on and on.
How obvious does the criminal pattern have to be, before people will finally give credence to the very legitimate concerns? What are we in for, as we allow such a criminal crime ring to continue unchecked, all the name of "paranoia" and "Conspiracy theory"?
I am very interested to read your thoughts about this:
What specific tools have you, as activists, found to be good ways to break through the wall of the common denial?
Are there ways you have found to get around the finger-pointing and labeling, which results from spreading the word of truth? IE how do you communicate searing truths in ways which do not result in being labeled "A Kook" or otherwise being discredited and blown off?
What is your solution to the concerns about "sticking one's neck out" especially on a professional level?
I think we activists need ongoing input about how to get past these and other denial mechanisms which we, given the nature of what we do, will come up against all the time.
It would be the "coolest" thing in the world to have an *ongoing* discussion about this topic.
Please post your solutions below! And, please write articles about this topic. Let's get a theme going here on Opednews, about how we activists can get past the denial system and the series of blockades to spreading the word of truth.
Thank you so much for your thoughts and insights!
