To those who want impeachment, I say, let's be real liberals and move on. Beat Bush by focusing on getting out of the war. We should spend our 2 years on health care and renewable energy. Leave Bush his lame duck finale. Overturn bad laws, get the constitution back in order, beat him by passing bills instead of wasting time, money and man power on impeachment. History will judge Bush's failures. This will keep us in power.

::::::::

Now that Democrats have defeated enough Republican incumbents to control both the house and the senate, a lot of the grassroots crowd that helped elect Democrats are giddy to see congress roll up their sleeves and get to work.

By work they mean, impeachment.

Here's why they are dead wrong.

All of the members of the new Democratic majority have 2 years to prove to people in their districts that they deserve reelection.

Do you think the people of these districts want Democrats to work on the things they said they'd do for us in congress or to impeach a lame duck president who will be gone in 2 years anyway? By the time we got the proceedings done, Bush would have a few weeks left in office anyway.

What would be best for keeping and expanding our Democratic majority? An agenda of revenge or an agenda of reform?

Think about it.

Historians can expose Bush's failures. That will cost us taxpayers zilch in lost time, money and man power. Or woman power as the case is here in the 20th.

As long as we no longer trust W, we are protected from here on out.

Impeachment won't reverse Bush's bad policies. Impeachment won't save our constitution. And impeachment will not return the lives we've lost in Bush's war.

The people elected Dems because they want us out of the war. They want better health care and new energy solutions. They are sick of lobbyists being the 4th branch of government.

They want our financial house back in order, to restore the constitutional rights that Bush has stripped away, and to get the 9-11 recommendations in place. Let's beat Bush by doing those things.

We can be better than they were.

And let's not be foolish with the happy bone Bush tossed out with his blue tie and Rumsfeld's resignation.

We should not believe Bush's sudden lip service on bipartisanship. The man had no interest in working with team donkey when our little mules were tripping over toppled carts and we were in the minority.

Now that we've got our packs loaded up and we are back on our feet again Bush is changing his tune for one reason and one reason only: to prevent the final reality of the new balance of power he's a lame duck president.

While he pretends he's interested in our agenda, in reality he needs us now.

So don't fall for his new suit and nice guy act. Don't hesitate to investigate when answers are needed.

But let's spend most of our time and valuable resources getting to the work of the people. That's what made us Jackasses to begin with and that is what can keep us in power over the long haul.

Instead of impeachment, we should live up to the ideals of real liberals and MOVE ON.
