Oil clean-up jobs?

Diary about trying to find an oil clean-up job.

Just my view as someone who lives an hour north of the Coast. Although I was working for the Census, I started looking for an oil clean-up job about three weeks ago. Mississippi's job service called "WIN" had two jobs listed, one requiring HAZWOPPER training and the other, which provided the training, required you to be from one of our three coastal counties. Just the 24-hour HAZWOPPER training costs over $400.

Although there maybe jobs in Louisiana, I applied through about four online employment sites, apparently you have to be from Louisiana to get those jobs.

My point, they're not doing everything they can.
