Occupy Portland Oregon by Allan Wayne

I marched today in Portland. This image captures for me, at the beginning of the march, the joyous enthusiasm of empowered people.

I shot video and numerous other photos which I will submit to Oped hopefully tomorrow.

The march was a huge success, with 5 to 10,000 participants, no violence.

Mayor Sam Adams gave permission for marchers to camp in two public parks.

The police, upon seeing the number of people, agreed to let the people march in the streets, permit or not.

What a beautiful day!
