What’s the rush and why is the press so damn interested in who will be Barack Obama’s veep pick? Why aren’t they news-hounding John McCain on the same subject?
But then, I want to know why they’re not hounding McCain on his flipping on the issues more that all the pancakes on I-Hop’s griddles.
Sometime we’re just too impatient. We want to know and do everything yesterday. We couldn’t wait to know who the presumptive Democratic nominee would be, and now we can’t wait to know who the vice presidential pick will be.
According to Linda Douglass, who moved from being a political reporter and analyst with NBC to being Obama’s spokeswoman, said even she’s out of the loop and not going “loopie” over it.
She said Obama cut her off at the pass, by saying they’re “locking it down” and “buttoning it up,” and he will not discuss it with her or anyone.
"That was so the people who are trying to claw me every day won't get anything. I expect to be kept in the dark," Douglass said.
Since traditionally it’s a secret until the convention, it’s not all that important to know now who it will be.
For now, the important thing is for the press and us to be focusing our attention on is the issues, and pointing out the chasm of differences between the two presidential candidates.
