Obama and McCain: Bailout Buddies

We have to open the presidential debates to all the candidates who are on enough state ballots to win. One of these candidates (there are four who have been excluded) is Ralph Nader. Nader, like a majority of the American people, opposes the Wall Street bailout. The debates completely lack the perspective of a majority of the voters on this issue (and many others)! Obama and McCain are bailout buddies: they agree on the un-reciprocated corporate fellatio that this bailout is.

The Democratic party has to come to terms with the fact that its candidate has a horrible position on this bailout.

We can stimulate the economy without corporate welfare. Congress must take its time, hold hearings, and come up with a proposal that doesn't make a majority of Americans vomit.

And people, calm down. We can make things better, but not if we are being driven by fear. Fear got us into Iraq, which is part of why our economy sucks: no money for human needs, just corporate greed.

 

My intellectual awakening is ongoing. Lately, politically, I'm most interested in efforts to break down two-party rule in this country. I registered Green after the Democrats won control of Congress. The more I think about it, the happier I am with (more...)
