The Bachmann campaign is now in the B movie business! Oh, not the now-famous Peter Waldron self-made movie trailer, but her entire campaign. Yep, its like a b movie.

We could forgive your campaign aides anything, except totally amateur movie trailers!

OK, who pulled the switch on the Bachmann campaign guru's movie trailer? Was it the treachery of Obama administration, or was it really the reaction to the poor vetting systemic to all Republicans? Filed under "didn't the dimwit know this was going to get out?" alongside the "Bachmann and Associates Pray-Away-The-Gay Clinic" there is now the news that Michele Bachmann's own campaign man was a man so shady and twisted, he was arrested in Uganda as a terrorist.

And he made a pathetic cinematic attempt to chronicle it.

Peter Waldron has had a past so convoluted, even he doesn't seem to know what he did because his stories seem to come out different every time: IT specialist? evangelist? Political pawn? Dominionist guru? Powerful spy with only twenty degrees of separation from George Bush? According to The Atlantic:

One Ugandan paper alleged he was working with Congolese rebel militia members to capture Joseph Kony, the leader of the Ugandan guerrilla group the Lord's Resistance Army, and claim a $1.7 million bounty on his head being offered by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, but that planning for the operation was botched, leading police to Waldron's house and the guns. But the Kampala Monitor reported that the inspector general of police "told a news conference Waldron was suspected of links to a group in neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and 'planned to set up a political party here based on Christian principles.'"
And Waldron's curriculum vitae is a questionable mish-mash of WTF?

Of course, with all of this going on, you'd think it would be easy to dig deeper into Waldron's persona. Ah...no.

(SSSHHHH! IT'S PRIVATE!!)

Finding this guy's aforementioned pedigree is just as fruitless: his supposed appearances on Nightline, Charlie Rose, Maury Povich and other programs do not check out. The Contact America Group only lists a Tondo Waldron as being with them. His "seminal" work, Rebuilding The Walls, A Biblical Strategy for Restoring America's Greatness, while listed on Amazon, is now a "collectible" (read: out of print) and it has no reviews. And, surprise! The Cities of Faith Ministries cannot be found on Google. "Oh, come on, EVERYTHING is found on Google," you say. And while Google is not the arbiter of existence, it makes the organization conspicuous with its absence. Ditto "Dr." Waldron's syndicated radio talk show.
"Was he a businessman, a preacher, a spy? Tortured and facing a firing squad, he never broke his oath of silence. What secret was worth the ultimate price?"
Unfortunately, the now-famous trailer for THE ULTIMATE PRICE:THE PETER E. WALDRON STORY comes up on YouTube with a great big THIS VIDEO IS PRIVATE sign. I was, however, able to see it yesterday. Obviously, Steven Spielberg wasn't available. Neither was a good high school student cinematographer. The actor playing Waldron did look properly tortured (probably because he had just been told he was only getting royalties).

The man of mystery himself is, of course, stoking the fires of suspicion:
On Saturday, Waldron told The Atlantic in Ames that he was a staffer for Bachmann and responsible for her faith-based organizing both in Iowa and South Carolina. But he also declined repeatedly to give his name.

The entire Bachmann campaign has now become the stuff of comedy so broad that even Saturday Night Live will have a problem justifying one sketch. It's just too idiotic: a nellie husband, a pray-away-the-gay clinic, a candidate whose only answer is "I am running for President of the United States" and now a Dominionist Christian terrorist.

No, you can make this sh*t up.
