I was always wondering why one of the best writers on OEN, Steve Lendman gets very little comment. The best explanation I could come up with is that although his writings are terrific, the analysis is insightful and succinct, there is one vice (if I can call it that way)- there seem to be nothing new.
There seem to be nothing new in the following:
1. The gross violations of the human rights here in the US.
2. The total disregard of the law of the land.
3. The total lack of any foreign policy ( and domestic too)
4. The compendium of lies coming from the media.
5. The sellouts reaching monstrous proportions.
6. The stench of hypocrisy filling the whole air.
7. The total denial of common sense.
8. The dance macabre of the so-called leadership.
9. The murder of dignity and soul.
10. Treason exercised by the very institutions called to protect the country.
There's nothing new in describing that, nothing new in discontent. We all know that. We know that even if we are in denial. In Russia they say that there's no more unpleasant person than the one who is always right: even if the outcome is as he/she predicts, nobody feels grateful. A Cassandra syndrom? I think, those Trojans who did not believe Cassandra DID KNOW that she was right. But they chose not to believe anyway.
I think we all must understand though that IT IS OUR DUTY TO FIND THOSE NEW WAYS. Steve Lendman is a great writer. Make the next step- use his materiel to show what can be changed. Others do. I saw references to him in Russian papers. They have their own predictions though. What are ours? Right now the lack of comment to impecable writings of Steve and others like him tells a not very nice story about us: we had not grown enough to go forward and good analysis intimidates us. Nothing new? But there's nothing to be proud of either. Laziness and scepticism NEVER lead to victory.
