I absolutely reject ratings system. I don't care if I have a relatively good rating posted by “Veronica” on a recent article. Who is she? Is she a peer? No articles...nothing.
It devalues my work to be judged by the unknown and it devalues subject matter. This is not junior high. We are not running for student council here.
If OEN wants a ratings system, then OEN should pay someone qualified to do it, or write reviews of the authors’ body of work, anything but this ridiculous ratings system which only serves the ego of the rater.
I am a serious writer and find this to be a degrading and demeaning exercise to say the least.
To have “Veronica” give a devalued rating to the subject matter who is a gold star mom and tireless public servant is beyond comprehension. OR did “Veronica” mean the subject of morality...yeah let’s devalue that!
I think I will invent a new identity. Let’s call her “Buffalo Alice.”
