opednews.com

There have been some people posting to opednews lately who are pretending to be neo-cons. But are they?

::::::::

As it happens, I've debated for years on many forums with actual neo-cons. They may be wrong about many things, in my personal opinion, but they aren't stupid.

Lately I've been seeing a lot of really stupid comments on opednews purporting to come from neo-cons. But they are as transparent as the notes the Anthrax killer used to tried to pin the blame on Moslems. Real neo-cons aren't that dumb.

My guess is that some, if not all of these fake neo-cons are Democratic Party political operatives posing as neo-cons. They deliberately post comments that are as ignorant and bigoted as they can make them, in hopes of angering progressives and pushing emotional buttons that will panic progressives into voting for Democrats. After all, if the alternative is neo-cons, why wouldn't one vote for Democrats?

The only problem is that the Congressional Democrats, with the exception of a few shills like Dennis Kucinich, ARE neo-cons. Nancy Pelosi isn't a progressive. Joe Lieberman isn't a progressive. The Democrats who voted to fund wars of aggression, voted to deregulate the banking industry, voted for NAFTA, voted for the Patriot Acts and the Military Commissions Act, FISA, and to confirm Mukasey, aren't progressives, they're neo-cons. Just because they belong to the Democratic Party doesn't mean that they're not neo-cons.

The reason that a poll showed that Congressional Democrats had only an 11% approval rating among Democratic voters, is because the Congressional Democrats have been supporting the neo-con agenda and their base does not.

Knowing this, and unable to provide any progressive reasons for progressives to vote FOR the Democrats, the Democratic Party operatives are reduced to posing as neo-cons in hopes of frightening people into voting for Democrats.

Sure we're evil, is the Democratic Party mantra, but the other guys are even more evil than we are. Only they're not. They are equally evil. The hitman who pulls the trigger and the person who pays that hitman to pull the trigger are equally evil. In fact the person who puts out a contract but never touches a gun may be MORE evil, because without them, the killing would never happen.

There is no way to trace most online identities. It is certainly possible that there are a few really dumb neo-cons and that they all managed to find their way to opednews at once and started posting the most ignorant comments they could think of. But I doubt it. Neo-cons, be they Democrats or Republicans, are evil, but they're not that stupid.
