We will never get out of this global warming situation unless big oil is nationalized. They have loads of money and spend loads bribing politicians and whoever else they have to. They are a power unto themselves that have influenced our way of life. We buy a 20000 dollar behomoth so we can get to work instead of using that money collectively to ride a bus, train, or some other conveyance.Why is an oil company allowed to literally destroy the entire Gulf of Mexico and maybe the Atlantic? Because they own the government. Who cares about fishermen or the animals, fish, and wild life in the sea when there are profits to be made. Money is literally god in America.
Why are we fighting in Afghanistan, Iraq, and soon to be Iran. Oil. Big oil made off with big profits from the wars, and you paid for these wars with your kid's lives and with your taxes. Why is this happening? Money is god and people with money are little bitty gods.
Why haven't we made more progress producing new cleaner technologies that do not use oil. Because big oil has made every effort to keep us using technology that is 150 years old.
Why do we allow plastic bottles to clutter up the Pacific ocean with a patch that is as big as Texas? Plastic is made from oil. Who cares about the sea as long as the little gods of oil are making the big god, money.
Why don't we settle the Middle East situation with Israel? Probably because of oil. Israel keeps everyone pissed off while the oil folks go in a rob all the goods.
The future of this planet rides on what we do with oil people. We keep letting these folks do what they want, and they will destroy this planet with their greed. We will keep having wars, never settle with Israel, and keep using 150 year old technology until we nationalize oil.
