STEPS NEEDED TO GET A PATIENT "GRANDFATHERED" INTO A CURRENT PATIENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM NAMED "BTA PATIENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM" FOR WELLBUTRIN XL 300 MG. TABLETS FROM DEFUNCT GLAXCO SMITH KLINE PATIENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM SPECIFICALLY DEFUNCT RE: WELLBUTRIN XL 300 MG Tablets.
Glaxco Smith Kline has discontinued (notification to patient isn't required) its Patient Assistance Program for Wellbutrin XL. 300 mg. tablets. They sold that particular drug to a company named Biovail in May or June of 2009. I discovered the discontinuation during a refill process. If you know of anyone that is/will be affected, I've refined the following information.
PLEASE NOTE - I WAS TOLD THAT ONLY THE PATIENTS AFFECTED BY THE SALE ARE BEING GRANDFATHERED IN. AT THE PRESENT TIME, THEY ARE NOT ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS FOR WELLBUTRIN XL 300 MG. TABLETS. HERE'S THE PROCEDURE:

2. On the application form itself, located on the upper right corner, there is an area in all capital letters that says:
WELLBUTRIN XL PATIENT ID. I was told to use the ID number received from the Glaxo Smith Kline program.

On the right hand side of the page that comes up, there is a section that is called "PATIENTS." CLICK on ON THE CIRCLE designated "Learn More."
This new page is entitled "Patient Center." You will see the area called "DATABASE SEARCH." CLICK on
"Company Name" and TYPE IN THE LETTERS BTA.

The new page is titled "Program Details."
YOU WILL THINK THAT YOU ARE ON AN INCORRECT PAGE TO ACCESS WELLBUTRIN XL 300 MG. TABLETS. YOU ARE RIGHT WHERE YOU SHOULD BE. Again, you should still be on the page called "Program Details." Look to a sort of tan colored area on the right. Here's what you should see:

These 2 links are dedicated to applying for WELLBUTRIN XL 300 MG. TABLETS. Print out, get your 2008 Tax Return Forms follow directions and you're good to go. If you financially qualify, a 90 day supply will be sent to your physician's office. You have to print out and complete the same form every 90 days to get refills. You have to send the 2008 Tax Return Forms only ONCE upon the initial application. Again - this is only if you are being "GRANDFATHERED IN."
