Today a very good friend of me has sent me a message informing that the WFP has started distribution of rations among the tribesmen of Bajaur Agency, my hometown. He was happy as he thought now my wife and children will be able to get ration for survival. But now I have taken a decision that I will never accept assistance from the UN or other organizations if I die of hunger.

::::::::

Now I have decided that I will never accept the assistance from the WFP or other UN organizations as I have been seeing with my own eyes that they have been making a fraud with the whole world. I shall prefer to leave this world, but I shall never accept assistance from the WFP and UN. The rulers of Pakistan have been needing the money so I will advise the United States and the United Nations to give money to them. The poor people can survive without their assistance. If we do not eat something what will be the result. We will just die. So now I am going to kill myself with my own hands. I will not make a complaint against anyone in this world as I am happy after my decision. I am going to paste the letter of my friend, but I shall not mention his name as he has not authorized me for doing so. The following is his letter.

Dear Muhammad:

I haven't written for some time and hope that you and your family are surviving and are well. I noted a piece you wrote recently on Obama's new leadership being simply more of the same old leadership, in other words, that he is singing a different song from Bush but in the background the same music is playing. The innocent are still being victimised. It was a good piece.

A recent piece concerning Bajaur reported that under a new WFP program food ration allotments are being made - 80kg of flour, 5kg of oil, 4kg sugar, 1kg salt, 8 kg lentils, tea 'and other essentials'. I hope that Fatima and your children, if they are still in Khar, will have access to these rations.

How are you? Are you still at work with the IDPs? Is the situation in Bajaur improving or still so bad that there can be no talk of improvement? Is your health all right? Is there anything that I might help with?

Please write if you have the chance. My book is progressing well and I continue to be grateful to you for the assistance you have given me.

Your friend

The following is the message, which I have sent to my friend while reply to his message.

My dear friend

A lot of thanks for your kind message. Actually yesterday when I left the office of Emergency Response Unit I have decided that I shall send you the message, but when today when I have arrived at the office and opened my email inbox I was delighted when I found your message. I am really grateful for remembering me and my family. Thank you very much for your appreciation of my writing. Actually I am not a writer of that standard, who will be appreciated by you. This is your greatness that you have been giving consideration to my writing.

My dear friend, situation in Bajaur Agency is returning to normalcy as now the government of Pakistan has changed its policy, but there are still officials within the system who want that the deaths and destruction may remain continue as they have been earning money through this way. But one positive development is that the government of Pakistan has announced reward for killing or arresting the important Taliban leaders of Bajaur Agency and some other parts of tribal areas. Anyhow the situation will improve with passage of time.

The main problem of Pakistan is the rampant corruption. Pakistan has a chance to survive if it hits roots of corruption, which is the main reason of terrorism. At the moment I have been working in ERU, a department which is looking after the IDPs, but I am not satisfied with my present job and may be leaving it anytime. Actually I have the desire to join active politics and challenge the rulers of Pakistan. I have been enjoying the support of my tribe and some other tribes of Bajaur Agency. I am just making the mind.

Fatima and my children are okay. I have not seen them for one month as I am still in Peshawar and they are in Bajaur Agency, but they are okay as I remained in contact with them through phone.

Yes, I have heard that WFP has started food distribution programme, but I will not go for the ration as I can provide food and other basic necessities of life to my wife and my children through the money which I have been earning through my work.

My dear friend, I have good opinion about the UN officials, but during my job with the ERU I have discovered one thing that most of the UN officials have been taking full share from the money which the Pakistani officials have been earning through unfair means. There will be loot and plunder in the WFP programme so I will not go there for getting assistance. I never left my area so I am not an IDP, therefore, I consider that I am not entitled for the assistance.

My dear friend, please accept thanks and regard from my children and my wife and give my regard to your wife and children. Please remain in touch with me whenever you find the time as I have been learning something from you. I hope your book will bring a revolution in the whole world. You are going to change the shape of world politics
Again thank you for your message and give me time. May God the Great give you all the happiness in this life and in the life hereafter if there is any.
Yours friend Muhammad Khurshid
