Earlier today I had posted a reply on Nancy Tobi's personal essay article entitled "The Gasser" here on op ed news. In that reply I said I might post a public diary in which I hope to make clear, the reasons for my asking so many questions. I live in Cincinnati and the only means by which I maintain a semblance of sanity is by asking questions. Lots of them.

::::::::

A couple of months ago the various media outlets were on a binge of covering tea parties.
I try to stay on top of propaganda because my world view consists of "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." I noticed that one of the Tea Party officials lives in my neighborhood. His picture is prominently posted along with the other tea party officials on their web site.

Their website indicates he's the "Vice President of National Affairs and Strategy."
He describes himself as follows in this portion: "a citizen and taxpayer who is very concerned about this administration's socialist agenda. Congress has pledged to spend trillions of dollars that we don't have on projects that we don't need. We collectively have pledged to bail out people who choose not to work instead of those who choose to be productive in society. Our priorities are flawed. Our representative government has ceased 'representing' and this cannot continue." This was followed by statements about "personal choices, personal freedom, and personal responsibility. Let us protect the Constitution by keeping Government what it was intended to be, small. In the words of President Ford "a government [that is] big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take [from you] everything you have". "

A few days later I thought I recognized him at our local strip mall so I took a chance, called out and introduced myself . He looks like he's twenty - something.

I asked him about his feelings about the public health care option and I asked him what draws him to the Tea Party movement. It didn't surprise me that he didn't want the public health care option. What concerned me was his explanation of WHY he doesn't want it.
What follows are variations from on the conversation's theme:
Paraphrase - Socialism always leads to Fascism. Lost relatives in the Holocaust. Socialism caused the Holocaust. Won't lose any more relatives than already lost. Can never support Socialism because it changes into Fascism and more Jews die.
End Paraphrase
