Mr. President Obama, I voted for you. I listened to your debates, I listened to your speeches and I read your books. I saw your advantages and vices and I understood that although you were certainly a brilliant man, very talented, very educated and very articulate, you still were a typical American- rather shallow, ignorant and arrogant. Still, I saw a potential to grow, an inquisitive mind, a complex, compassionate personality, a kind and gentle father, a real human being. I gave you a chance, Sir and I voted for you and I am the one who is your base- a highly trained engineering professional, a sturdy middle class man fed up with Bush cabal eating our lives and ready for change. I made up my mind and voted in a free will. No illusions.
So, now, when you came out there and announced twitching with hubris that you were sending 21000 additional troops to Afghanistan I did not get angry. I pitied you. You are pathetic. It was not just a crime you committed, it was an error, a mistake, something so obvious, so clear that people from the whole spectre from General Gromov to Ray McGovern could see that, I bet your children could see that if only you would dare to discuss it with them. It was a pivotal moment and you blew it. From now on you are not the President of Change- you are a President of War and that is the same we had before: you have lost your only capital. You have become a drone, one of those who roam the skies and kill people; you have lost your soul, Sir and it is very tough to find it back.
Mr, President, for your own sake, for the sake of our country, which we both love, for the sake of those young people whom you want to sacrifice, for the sake of the Afghan and Pakistani people who will have to endure your stupidity and your malice, for the sake of the whole Humanity, I hope you fail and fail miserably. I hope you realize through that failure that the only powerful enemy we face is not in the ever- sufferiing Afgahnistan but right here. It was that enemy who gave you the advice to invade the foreign country once again. I hope you learn from the mistakes of your own if you cannot learn from the mistakes of your predecessors. I hope you realize that you had betrayed my trust, that you had betrayed the US people, that you had betrayed the nation and that you had put a blemish on your historic Presidency. You have made a first step to Hell and I sincerely hope you still have a time to redeem yourself. You better pray that you have that chance, Sir.
I wish you well. I wish that you and only you would be able to see how wrong you were and take our people out of the foreign land and start the new foreign policy- the policy of peace and cooperation on the equal grounds. I hope I will live until the day you come out to the podium and with all that eloquence of yours announce that the new, proper investigation of the 9/11 is sought and that the International Tribunal in Hague wil handle the indictments of Cheney, Bush, Rice, Rove and their co- conspirators. I hope I hear the voice of my country saying that we proclaim the independence of the foreign poilcy, that we are opening negotiations on the friendship treaties with Russia and that we dismantle NATO. I hope our govt stops licking the boots of the AIPAC and understand that by promoting fascism in Israel we endanger everyone, Jews the first. I hope... Right now here's the message from your base, Mr. President ,and it is a very stern one- you better listen good. The message is of horrible disappointment and utmost disdain. I do not think you want to get such a message at all from the friend of yours.
Respectfully
Mark Sashine
