On the South Lawn of the White House, at this very moment, the President of the United States announced that he is "disappointed" with the Congress---elected just last year by the American people---for trying to bring sanity to an open-ended war policy that has brought our country disrepute, de-stability, and death.
Mr. President, the American people are disappointed in you.
The Iraq Study Group recommended sensible proposals for bringing stability and security to Iraq--a strategically vital world region--destabilized by the President's wrong-headed policy. The President continues to erroneously claim that American security depends on "success" in Iraq. Unfortunately, the President persists in not spelling out what that success may look like.
Mr. Bush the American people are quite capable of defending themselves, as is evidenced in Flight 93. When your nation called upon you for service, you were AWOL.
Mr. President, the American people reject your policy.
Finally, I hope the US media will provide more in-depth interviews with members of the Iraq Study Group---they deserve a hearing before the American people since the President will not listen to them.
