Another cry from Iraq. Looks like the battle has come home to roost in the hearts and spirits of dissillusioned troops who are seeing the futility and falsehood of their actions. Should this piece be called "As The Penny Drops?" Is this an act of conscience, or call for redemption, or protest, or is it just " I want my Mommy " My question is " What did you think you were doing joining the Army in the first place ??!!"

::::::::

Please read what my nephew Jason just sent and do your best. Deb

>Subject: Update 24 june 07

>Hello everyone!!!

> Well its been a couple of weeks since my last
>letter to the group. I just want to start off by
>saying that it has been one of the toughest times of
>my life and without your prayers I don't think I wold
>have made it this far. If it hadn't been for the Lord
>that's for sure.

> Keep your prayers up my friends. The Army is in
>a reaaly bad spot right now. What we hear our
>leadership telling the American people isn't the case
>at all really. The common line soldier is not being
>heard. I want you to know the truth. The truth from a
>soldier from the gound in the middle of Bagdad.
> We are not making progress. I can tell you from
>the last time I was here in 05 that we are fighting a
>whole new beast. Instead of a few individuals from a
>different land we are now fighting the whole country.
>The streets are empty. The people that supported
>liberty and freedom have long been killed or have
>moved. I cleared a group of houses the other day that
>was at least 50% abandoned. The only people that seem
>to want us here are the people we put in power.

> How is this a Godly war? How is forcing our way
>on another country that doesn't want us here the right
>answer. Sure the government we put in place needs our
>help, yet we gave them power for which they aren't
>inclined to give up too easily.
> This county is in the middle of a civil war.
>They tell us we are on Iraq's side. Well Iraq wants to
>be free to fight thier own battles, Sunni and Shiite
>alike.

> Alll this being said it's not the fight for
>freedom that upsets me. If I saw citizens dragging
>terrorists in the streets and wanting Liberty I would
>gladly give my life for that cause. That is not the
>case at all. The people keep thier mouth's shut and
>therefore the Terrorists leave them alone. Thats all
>they want anyway.

> Well an Army is held together by a "cause" . A
>cause to hold the soldiers together, a cause to give
>them some cause for sacrifice. Four of my close
>friends gave that sacrifice the other day. Death is
>part of a soldiers life. It is the accepted risk. The
>price for Liberty. The hardest part has been
>justifying their sacrifice. Is so many good many lost
>worth the freedom of a country who doesn't really want
>us here. I say no.

> When is this going to stop? When is enough,
>enough? Please we need your help. The common soldier
>needs your help. The soldier that signed up to serve
>and protect his country with no political gain needs
>your help. The command is not representig the truth.
>They are representing thier careers. It is costing you
>your son's and daughter's lives. Please stand up and
>help us. Bring us home!! Bring your sons and daughters
>home.....it's time.

> I am a believer in my Christ Jesus. I pray
>everyday that the Lord will bring His wisdom down on
>the leadership of our country. I believe that these
>people have seen nothing but violence their entire
>life. How are we bringing them any difference. Christ
>looked at the individual. We need to help this country
>one person at a time with the love of Christ. The Lord
>will bring His Judgement when the time is right. There
>are good people here, yet they are ruled by fear. They
>need Christ's love.

> I dont think they have the burdon of liberty on
>their hearts yet. You have to want, desire, and yearn
>for Liberty and be willing and ready to sacrifice
>everythig for that cause. That is what I don't see. It
>has a heavy cost and it cannot be bought by anyone but
>yourself.
> Please send this to whomever you please, The
>county need to know the truth. In fact, please send
>this out to as many people as you want.

>In Him

This thought train encompasses two letters from G.I.s as forwarded from A28 Impeachment Space at http://a28.org

I can surely understand what Eli is saying; but it is a little late now isn't it?!
He's there, he's been killing innocent Iraqui's who are defending their country or got in the way of the US Imperialist Oil Grab; and NOW he gets a change of heart ?!
He's gone along with this for HOW LONG ??
He's killed HOW MANY ??
And now he's a traitor, a deserter, an enemy combatant.

He could end up in Abu Graib in a blink.
Isn't it a bit late to have a change of conscience ?
Isn't it a bit premature to take this stand in foreign lands. Couldn't he have thought this out a bit better?
Did he just hear that he's being extended ?
God forbid friendly fire gets to him first.
This is altogether a bit too sordid, and out of sinc.
Maybe he should of just seen a shrink and pulled a medical, instead of a

( belated ) righteous.

Most of us have done some questionable things, but when we were 18 we knew that killing was wrong and when I was drafted to go to Nam, I got out of it with a medical that I worked up. Lots of my peers got out of it too, either to Canada, or student deferments or medical platforms.
There was no part of Nam that I was the least bit interested in bleeding for and I didn't need to wait till I was 26 to decide that. I can really only evaluate this fellow by my observation of my own past behaviour and as Stephen Stills said in a song back then, " I may be crazy but I ain't real dumb"
I might also remind you that the war crimes act will indict everyone involved should it come to Nuremburg trials in the Hague, and " I was just following orders" will NOT exonerate any of the G.I.'s from having taken part in the illegal war, any more that they were exonerated from crimes of WW II.
But then, I also hold the Pope culpable for insulting the Islam nation and calling them devil worshippers or whatever it was that he said, and inciting this war of terror upon Islam by the righteous Christian soldiers. I also hold him and his church responsible for the crimes against humanity in the name of 'the Lord' as they polluted the innocent native tribes of the earth as Christians spreading the word of 'the Lord' and the arrogance that still pervades his church under the guise of self assumed promoters of 'the only God'
In the final analysis though it reminds me of the scene in " Private Benjamin" where Goldie says, " Uhm, excuse me, Uh, I think I'm in the WRONG Army........you see, I joined the one with the condos and the swimming pools........"
Too many people die in these pointless wars, and I have no sympathy for someone who takes up a weapon to kill someone else in unprovoked blood lust. I don't care WHAT line of shit someone fed him; if he doesn't have brains to stay out of it, then he's responsible for the consequences.

" OOOoooooooh, I didn't know I was gonna git SHO-o- t, I just joined to learn how
to blow shit up, NOT get ma legs blowed off "

" You bastards, you killed my only son. He joined the Army
to get an educaion and you killed him!"

HELLOOoooo, it's the freeking ARMY not the boy scouts.

and so now he wants to 'come out' and he deserves support; except we're not hearing repentance, nor pleas for forgivness or denuciation, so I'm not fully convinced that this gentleman has turned over a new leaf; rather merely implying a new view point, though mostly it would seem, he's just tired of the lie. That's a lot different than decrying the Military, and condemming the dub.
These guys are all volunteers remember?
have any of them REALLY made the change?
But there's more to this from my side, which I want to take the opportunity to add now.
This fellow said
" We need to help this country
one person at a time with the love of Christ. The Lord
will bring His Judgement when the time is right. There
are good people here, yet they are ruled by fear. They
need Christ's love."

I'm certain this guy still doesn't have a clue. The Islamic nations were there, in fact they ARE the birth place of Jesus, and they are NOW Muslims. THEY are not the least bit interested in some cocke mamy tale about a guy who got himself nailed to a cross. That religious arrogance is the self same animal that the military uses when they say that the troops are bringing democracy to Iraq.
The Iraqui people don't give a flying sheet about Christ's love, they just want those gringo bastards out of their country. This Sgt. still has his head in his asspirator, and is still flaunting the religious righteousness that has already destroyed indigenous cultures around the planet with it's infiltration of ancient customs with b.s. about redemption and salvation and the" One and ONLY God "
This guy has NOT made any changes. I promote his letter because it is the lesser of two evils and any dissention from the ranks is worthy of response if it means the military gets undone. Other than that it's blatantly apparent that Jason still needs a wake up call.

And just so that we're perfectly clear here, don't let misguided patriotism and family allegiance delude anyone into thinking that the troops are somehow immune to the Geneva Convention, The United Nations or the World Courts. The troops are involved VOLUNTARILY in an ILLEGAL war. There is NO righteousness in that. They are murderers; short and sweet. They are participating in an illegal occupation. They are enabling the illegal administartion and the stolen presidency. NO delusion about patriotism will ever annul that. The troops are killing innocent defenders of their OWN country. They are NOT INSURGENTS !! They are Iraqui PATRIOTS !!

Just because some wise guy ( Rove ) decides to pull some fast word play and turn the defenders or their country into violators does NOT make an illegal invasion an act of GOD !!!

Don't be confused or mistaken about this.

The entire military, the government and the supporters are all guilty of GENOCIDE !!

Stop DELUDING YOURSELVES

and THIS statement:

"We need to help this country
one person at a time with the love of Christ."

WHAT the FARK???!!!

He's brandishing a weapon, invading a country illegally, gone back for the second time; murdering people and he has the AUDACITY to even USE the words of religion in his mind????

THIS is crime enough, but DELUSION to the MAXIMUM !!!!

Peace Out,

Rev. Michael Valentine Goldsun
