Monsanto patents seeds and forces farmers to buy expensive seeds and pesticide that they cannot afford. In India this is causing suicides.

Monsanto is an evil one-eyed monster. Has this company done anything for humanity? In India and other third world countries this evil monster has patented seeds that Indians have used for thousands of years. They create seeds that will grow a plant that will not produce anymore seeds. This causes farmers to return year after year for seeds that they have held back from crops for thousands of years. This monster corporation then requires the farmer to use expensive pesticides. This combination is far too expensive for the vast majority of third world farmers. In India it has lead to a rash of suicides.

Is the point here to drive the small farmer off of his land, so that major agribusinesses can then take over? Small businesses and small farmers are being destroyed all over the world due to "globalization", which just means that huge multinational companies go in and underprice all the local businesses and destroy them.

I enjoy writing about political/ economic events, and I am especially concerned about the US as a warlike nation. I would like to see this nation turn itself around from a conquering nation in both commerce and war to a nation of peace. I hope that (more...)
