Money is destroying democracy, ravaging justice and throttling the middle class in its losing battle in the class war-- a war started by the wealthy.

::::::::

We see it in the story, State For Sale: How Ed Gillespie Engineered A GOP Takeover Of State Legislatures Before 2010 Census.

Money is power. We see it in the influence a donation from Morgan Stanley Bank has on the police, in Danny Schechter's article, ree Marketers Going After Occupy Wall Street --Danny Schechter

We've seen the treacherously destructive effect on Democracy that CItizen's United has had and promises to continue to have at even worst levels.

Billionaires give money to dozens of policy advocacy think tanks and organizations like those run by Grover Norquist and Ralph Reed.

Opednews scrapes by on sacrifices made by people on fixed social security incomes, the unemployed nine-niners, union members, retirees, people who work their asses off for their hard earned incomes. We know those $5 donations are often as or more dear than $500 donations.

We also know that we make real differences in people's lives.
Yesterday I got word that an OEN article was circulating among a group that was highly grateful. It was advocating for prisoners and that group consisted of prisoners in a prison. One article lit up some hope in their lives-- because someone cared and someone was fighting for them.

Every day, we publish articles advocating for some cause, some group, some issue that involves injustice, corruption, oppression. It's our job. We do it as a community. You are a part of that community. Maybe you donate or maybe you don't Maybe you've signed up as a premium member-- not many have yet, but it doesn't matter. We're all in this together, fighting, yes raising hell, Kicking ass and fighting, for justice, against oppression, taking a little ground here, losing a little ground there. It is a work that does not bear fruit you can easily bite or taste that often. Like a tree that must bloom for years before it bears fruit, our work, our activism takes a long time, going through hot and cold seasons. But we will persevere. We will not give up. And our work will lead to justice and freedom and fairness.
Stand with us. Do with your writing, your reading, your sharing our links with others, and if you can make a donation.

thanks,
