Graeme McDowell
Tom Jones sang the theme song for Mrs. Tiger Woods and the 110th US Open at Pebble Beach: "It's not unusual to be loved by anyone, It's not unusual to have fun with anyone, but when I see you hangin' about with anyone, It's not unusual to see me cry, Oh I wanna' die."
The Graeme McDowell Gregory Havret exacta at PebbleBeach paid $20 Billion at Betfair.com. The lone winner Tony Hayward spent the afternoon on his 52 foot yacht "Bob" racing around The Isle of Wight with his son. Tom Watson bawled his way up 18 at PebbleBeach with his son Michael on the bag.
Last year Tony Hayward made $14 Million in salary alone. Graeme McDowell, who attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham earned $735,141 in 2009 ranking 112, quite an increase from his $52,768 in 2007 and his ranking of 255. In 2009 the second place finisher at Pebble Beach Gregory Havret earned $36,625. Phil Mickelson tipped the shoe shine boy at PebbleBeach more than that. How did McDowell and Havret even get into the tournament? Did they ride in on a plume of oil at the 7th green?
It's one thing for 1 golfer to pull a 1999 Carnoustie Van de Velde but the whole field? It was like watching the American Empire boil in oil from one hole in the ground 50 miles offshore. Was Tony Hayward marking the score card for Graeme McDowell? Since when do Americans get all riled up by a blown call by a soccer referee? Johnny Miller said that he didn't know if the field or BP was leaking more oil.
Graeme McDowell is from Northern Ireland, part of the United Kingdom. First the UK destroys our country then they take our most coveted cup. How did this happen in the same month? No European has won the US Open in forty years. The Jewish people wandered in the desert for forty years. Noah and his wife, his 3 sons and their wives rode on an ark for forty days and forty nights.
To get the Jewish people out of slavery in Egypt, God of Mount Sinai aka God the Father, Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit, Allah, Yehovah, Elohim, I Am, turned the NileRiver and all the water in Egypt blood red. The oil volcano in the Gulf of Mexico has turned the water blood red. "This is what the Lord says: By this you will know that I am the Lord: with the club that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood. (At least the vampires would survive.) The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink; the Americans will not be able to drink its water." Ex. 7:17-18.
Tiger Woods, ever gracious in defeat blamed his caddy Steve Williams for suggesting the wrong club. It wasn't the whiplash from the fire hydrant accident, the blown out knee from posting up onto his left leg after his speedy hip turn for the first years of his career. It wasn't the achilles heel torn during rehab, or the snap hooks into the trees or the push right of right off the cliff into the Pacific Ocean, or the inability to make anything over 2 feet, it was the caddy making a wrong club selection. Part of Tiger Woods' custody agreement gave the New Zealand caddy final say over all club selections. Steve Williams didn't care as he was still celebrating New Zealand's tie with Italy. In horse racing anything can happen.
When Tiger Woods is ahead after 54 holes he never loses but when he is behind he never wins. The old Tiger Woods showed up for the third round but it looked like the heir to the throne Dustin Johnson was the horse for the course after winning the past two clambakes at Pebble Beach and leading Graeme McDowell by 3 and Tiger Woods by 5 after round 3. Unfortunately Dustin Johnson's head exploded on the second green. And God said, "You shall know that I am the Lord."
It's not unusual for a 60 to one shot to be leading at the head of the stretch and then to drop dead; actually it is to be expected. Dustin Johnson fell coming out of the gate. It wasn't like Graeme McDowell made a brilliant Zenyatta like come from behind move in the middle of the stretch. Graeme McDowell finished bogey par for a 3 over par 74 Sunday and an even par total. It was like watching the entire field of trotters breaking stride in the stretch. You would expect it from Graeme McDowell, Dustin Johnson and Gregory Havret but what happened to Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els, multiple major champions? Finally Tiger Woods isn't there and Els and Mickelson can't beat McDowell, who won at even par and Havret? Els had it to 3 under before he remembered that he always comes second like Tom Weiskopf. Family man Jack Nicklaus and his 18 majors are starting to look awfully good right now, unless Tiger can find a better caddy.
