"March Against Mold"
Nothing can stop us, we're taking a stand.
The truth must be told and it lies in our hands.
Our children are crying, so many are dying.
Sure as the air we're longing to breathe;
We're taking a stand while down on our knees.
This whole situation is out of control.
Nothing can stop us. Nothing can stop us.
Nothing can stop our march against mold.
My Chloe, I call her Little Miss Sunshine.
The warmth of her smile could light up the sky.
A picture of health, life, love and laughter;
I see my reflections dance in her eyes.
Bicycles, Barbies, angels and bells;
Pizza and parties, big carousels;
The magic of music, so happy and bright;
School every morning and prayers every night.
Then with a roll of thunder the rain began to fall.
It wasn't long thereafter, something lurking in the walls.
Stains upon the ceiling over Chloe's head;
took the smile of a healthy child;
left a trail of tears instead.
Her eyes red and swollen, she's lost her hearing.
Chloe forgets simple things she should know.
She can't understand why other kids tease her.
The pain in her body she tries not to show.
The migraines, myalgia and chronic fatigue;
Nosebleeds and asthma, she struggles to breathe.
My Chloe's not sleeping, another bad dream;
You say this can't happen, but I hear her screams.
A canary in the coalmine,
just walking through a door;
She senses things around her she's never felt before.
Toxins of torture are like fire in her veins.
My angel girl fights to live while you play your foolish games.
There's a million little Chloe's out there.
Someone's suffering, someone's crying somewhere.
I can't believe you have the nerve to even
question if it's real.
God warned us in the Bible. Yes, He warned us in the Bible;
God warned us in the Bible;
Toxic Mold Can Kill.
Nothing can stop us, we're taking a stand.
The truth must be told and it lies in our hands.
Our children are crying, so many are dying.
Sure as the air we're longing to breathe;
We're taking a stand while down on our knees.
This whole situation is out of control.
Nothing can stop us - Nothing can stop us.
Nothing can stop our march against mold.
This is a song lyric I wrote in honor of a beautiful little girl named Chloe who has been sick from toxic mold since she was 3. "Little Miss Sunshine" is now 7 and she is such an inspiration to me and my husband, Tlee. When we talk to her she sounds like an angel, always asking how "we" are feeling. A precious child, she should be able to live her life without this pain. Despite all Chloe has been through and missing over 43 days of school one year, she was still chosen to be in a class for the gifted. Super job, Chloe!
She has such support from her mother. Chloe is kept on a very health conscious diet. No pizza parties, birthday cakes and ice cream. She has lost all the hearing in one ear, often doesn't feel like playing due to chronic fatigue, has extreme headaches, fibromyalgia type pain, severe attacks of stomach pain, problems with her eyes, and other issues one could only imgaine. Her mother is her tower of strength, tho' it's hard to see your child suffer and be unable to make the pain go away. Yet a mother's love is something only a mother can truly understand. Chloe is a real trooper. She seldom complains. Such a happy child with a positive outlook on life, she rises above because God just made that way.
She, like me, has a special love for angels and music. We send her angels as we can. She knows there is a Guardian Angel ever watching over her.
We would love be able to send many angels to add to her collection. It would be good for her to know so many people care. (I lost my 25 year angel collection when we lost our possessions to mold, but found a real live angel in Chloe).
Tlee and I also lost our music studio and health to toxic mold, with a systemic poisoning and infection. Still we hope to record the music Tlee wrote to "March Against Mold" as God provides a way. We want to do this for Chloe.
We pray to put Chloe in the limelight and let her beautiful spirit shine for all the world to see. We know she will recover and be able to do the things God intended for little girls to do.. without pain.
Our desire is also to be there for parents with mold-sickened children and anyone else who needs help, hope and real direction. But this song is a tribute to you, Little Miss Sunshine. We love you so. You are an inspiration to us all.
With Love,
Miss Iris and Tommy Lee Brooks
