Today our intelligence is assaulted by the following "news" item:
"BRUSSELS (AP) February 27, 2014 -- If Afghan leaders and the White House can't agree on a key security pact, the U.S.-led alliance will pull all of its troops and equipment out of Afghanistan by December, NATO's secretary general said Wednesday.
"On Tuesday, President Obama threatened to withdraw all U.S. troops from Afghanistan by the end of 2014 if the pact isn't signed."
This -- is this our final reward, our prize after a dozen years of massive slaughter, the practice of torture, exploitive private profiteering, disgrace to our future history, all orchestrated by lying leadership, supplemented by flag waving theater and the eerie silence of our churches? And even now without the moral catharsis of confession?
Why and how, by God! America, could we have allowed this to proceed across these dozen years?
Yes, will sound simple, but if there is to be any good that comes from these dozen years of historic national atrocity, it is that we must grasp what we have permitted to happen, and be alert to any signal of perverted leadership intending to seduce us to such abominations again -- and never, ever allow it to happen!
