“Freedom is hammered out on the anvil of discussion, dissent, and debate.”During this whole sad, McCain Campaign attempt to bully their way towards the White House, I am reminded of that fateful year 1962, when Gov. Barnett barred the College doors as a young man tried to register for classes at Ole Miss.
That man was James Meredith, and The U. of Miss had never allowed a black man to enroll in their all-white school.
It was a history making day, it changed the world we knew in 62. It changed a world we live in today, as acts of bravery are wont to do.
Now, another man is attempting to bar the U. Mississippi doors to the public. Sen. John McCain stands, in a bullying way, between the public and the debate that we badly need to hear. A much needed debate between the 2 men who would be President.
With only 40 days until we elect the most important man in the world, we the people, are being banned from the schoolhouse once again. Once again denied the knowledge so desperately needed to make informed decisions and elect the most qualified person to lead us towards the future.
I hope Obama does not allow the bullying tactics, of the McCain Campaign, deter his ascent on the stage of ole Miss.
James Meredith never gave in. Neither should Obama.
The debates should go on.
Tnut.
p.s. The vote is the antidote.
