The proposition of democracy is not that a democratic government will be correct and moral, but only that the form will represent the will of the majority of the citizens of a given nation. So if the United States, for instance, is in fact a democracy, then its citizens must have approved of the slaughter this nation has committed across the past nine years and approves of the slaughter that we have been advised will continue with no commitment to its ending. Think about that: a million innocents slaughtered over nine years, in deserts nine thousand miles from our coasts, without justification other than lies by our government, a government that was ordained to rule at the consent of the governed -- and which, in fact, is the case!

Unfortunately there are no requirements for a standard of intelligence or morality of the supportive citizens of a democracy, and this draws examination upon whether the democratic form of government is indeed the ideal form if it counters the best interests of humanity, which indeed appears to be the situation with the current "democracy" of the United States.

This leaves us with citizens thinking they have democracy, sappily believing the distortion their hierarchy preaches however such flies in the face of fact and the best interests of humanity.

Of course there is also a small minority of citizens who are aware that we are being lied to and being used to our own disadvantage as well as humanity's by the very people we reward to run our government, but who lack the initiative to stand up to this errant government, that is to suffer the discomforts and the risks to confront it and change things.

That group sickens me more than any, and if at my senior years I can devise a way to leave and survive elsewhere then I'm out of here, relieved to be separated from the perversion of the American ideal not only by the exploited dummies but more by the knowing laggards and cowards.
